The Nike Air Max 180 makes an unexpected yet fitting return through its latest collaboration with PAN Records. Dubbed “The Suspended Hour,” this release pulls the 180 from 1990s rave culture straight back into Berlin’s darkened club basements with a quietly intense, all-black execution.

PAN’s influence runs deep. Known for pushing sonic boundaries and experimental sound art, the label applies that same ethos to this sneaker. The upper is drenched in Anthracite and black, finished with layered synthetics that look burnished and worn, as though they’ve survived long nights on the dancefloor. A translucent protective glaze wraps sections of the shoe, giving it a shrink-wrapped, almost industrial appearance. There’s no flashy colour contrast—just raw texture and tonal depth.

Beneath the foot, a semi-translucent outsole conceals a hidden motif: the Greek god Pan playing his signature flute, a subtle nod to the label’s namesake. The detail is barely there, revealed under the right light and angle—much like the label’s own shadowy presence in underground culture. Branding remains lowkey, with a “NIX” stamp on the tongue and Air unit—referencing the label’s new research arm and the philosophical contrast between “nothing” and “everything.”

Finishing touches include a hinged-lid box and custom paper printed with the Pan flute motif. There’s even an extra pair of black laces, giving fans the option to keep things crisp or worn-in.
