Pharrell x adidas NMD S1 MAUBS HP2641

Pharrell is back once again as his Human Made brand label joins forces with the Three Stripes with this NMD. The NMD S1 continues to rack up collab after collab, and adidas’ very own Pharrell Williams updates this new model. This Pharrell x adidas NMD S1 MAUBS deviates from the usual Primeknit and adidas branding on the upper for a unique finish.

No more exposed Boost foam on the NMD, but the Primeknit construction remains. Not on this collab colourway though! The NMD S1 is a breath of fresh air for adidas as the NMD R1 went stale due to more popular silhouettes. It’s time to relive the success and trend of what most people call the shoe that ended Roshe Run.

In 2015, adidas “boosted” their footwear selections with the arrival of 3 Boost-equipped trainers. There was the Ultraboost and Yeezy Boost 350, and then there was the adidas NMD, one of the surprising models.

The adidas NMD S1 first arrived in 2021 in extremely limited quantities. Come 2022, more styles arrived and finally released worldwide.

Primeknit still makes up the upper of the shoe, while the midsole boasts a full-length Boost foam encased in TPU. The outsole features adidas trefoil logos that act as lugs.

This Pharrell x adidas NMD S1 MAUBS joins the long list of Pharrell adidas silhouettes. Canvas makes up the majority of the upper, while suede covers the heel panel. The shoe is rather plain and features Blue Humanrace labels across the upper.

Beige and Blue pigments also comprise the TPU midsole and rubber outsole with a split-type aesthetic.

This pair launches this January 2023 on the adidas UK website.
