Salehe Bembury and New Balance are back again cooking up another fresh 1000. The “Purple Pink” continues the designer’s partnership with the Boston brand, bringing his signature design language to one of New Balance’s most relevant styles right now. Originally built for performance, the 1000 has been shaken up under Bembury’s vision with a focus on tactile materials, rich colour blocking, and organic influences that have become his trademark.

This edition embraces a vibrant palette. Shades of purple and pink dominate the mesh and suede overlays, balanced by soft grey suede at the toe for structure. Translucent “N” logos add depth across the sidewalls, while hits of citrus yellow and kelly green on the midsole and outsole create a striking contrast underfoot. The layered colour scheme mirrors Bembury’s recurring nods to landscapes and nature, this time inspired by the shift in the sky from day into night.

Details push the collaboration beyond a simple colour update. Co-branded insoles and subtle topographic-inspired accents bring the shoe closer to the theme. The result feels like a welcome move into a more experimental space.

Much like his earlier “Fog Be the Cloud” release, the “Purple Pink” iteration has quickly captured attention online with its bold design. It highlights how New Balance continues to breathe life into archival models by collaborating with some of the sneaker worlds biggest designers, ensuring they remain relevant in today’s sneaker market.
