After checking out the Air Force 1 Low “Halloween” last week, it looks Nike has even more spooky sneakers up its sleeve as we take our very first look at the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Spider.” The latest shoe to drop as part of the American sportswear company’s long line of Halloween-inspired trainers, if you suffer from arachnophobia, you should probably look away now.
A nod to those eight-legged creatures, this creepy Zoom Vomero 5 is packed full of cool details. Working on top of a tightly-knit mesh base, it’s overlaid by panels and panels of hairy suede that’s meant to resemble the texture of a spider’s body, creating an experience that’s both intriguing and unsettling. A textured Swoosh graces the lateral and medial sidewalls with a web print, and this unique design also extends towards the front of the sneaker.
Of course, the standout feature of the “Spider” is the metallic lace dubrae that has been designed to look like a set of shiny spider eyes. The fang details on the toe box furthers this theme, and it’s all finished off with glow-in-the-dark detailing that lights up in a ghoulish green hue when exposed to low light. All of this then rests on top of a Cushlon foam midsole, making them perfect for when you’re running away from your worst nightmares this Halloween.
As you may have already gathered, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Spider” is set to drop in sometime in October. Let us know if you’ll be adding these to your collection, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
