The adidas Samba “Oversized Stripes” Edition is Big and Bold

According to Lyst’s Year in Fashion report, the adidas Samba is currently one of the most popular sneakers in the world right now, with over 35 million pairs being sold annually. There’s a lot of hype surrounding it, so if you really want to stand out, the adidas Samba “Oversized Stripes” is exactly what you need in your life. From a distance, this looks just like your conventional colourway. But there are a few big and bold details that are guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go.

Crafted predominantly from “Cloud White” leather, this Samba is lightly contrasted by the grey suede T-toe across front of the trainer. There doesn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary, right? Even the OG gum rubber midsole from the ’40s makes a comeback here, reconnecting the silhouette to its football roots.

However, when you glance at the tongue, you’ll find a massive Trefoil that’s bigger than any adidas logo that you’ve seen before. The Three Stripes across the sidewalls have also been beefed up in blue, and these are decorated with yellow stitching to give off the impression that it’s finding it hard to keep everything together. To round off this special edition shoe, the “Samba” logo is printed across the laterals in a wild, new font, reminding you once again that this isn’t any old Samba.

An official release date for the adidas Samba “Oversized Stripes” has yet to be announced, so make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to cop.
