It’s been a big year for the SL 72, and if for whatever reason you still don’t have a pair in your rotation, the upcoming adidas SL 72 “Cow Print” wants to change that. First introduced back in 1972 during the summer Olympics in Munich, this sneaker was originally designed for professional runners. Fast forward over five decades, and it’s become the go-to shoe for some of TikTok’s most fashionable folks, with special editions like this one set to take over the internet.
Most SL 72s are decked out in nylon and suede. It’s been like that since the silhouette debuted. But with the “Cow Print,” it completely revamps the materials with a leather base and synthetic fur that covers the entire upper. Clearly inspired by a friesian cow, this pattern is becoming more and more popular within the trainer game.
“Core White” stripes feature across the lateral and medial sidewalls, while pastel pink accents make their way to the adidas logos on the tongue and heel, possibly nodding to the cow’s udder. All of this then rests on top of a crisp EVA foam midsole, and it’s finished off with a grippy gum rubber outsole to keep you on your feet.
Injecting some playfulness to the vintage model, the adidas SL 72 “Cow Print” is a must-cop. Expected to release sometime in 2025, let us know if you’ll be going for these, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
