The Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Irregular Shadow” is a very special drop. While we all know about the original “Shadow,” the “Irregular Shadow” is actually a homage to a 1985 sample that never actually made it to shelves. But with Jordan Brand‘s 40th birthday coming up just around the corner, there’s never been a better time than the present to bring it back.
Rather than going for the classic black-on-grey colour combo, this Air Jordan 1 flips the script by reversing the blocking, placing grey suede panels over a slick black leather base. While the changes may be very subtle, the impact is huge. An oversized Nike Swoosh glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls, while the legendary winged basketball emblem on the collar throws it back to the unreleased prototype from four decades ago.
Underfoot, Jordan Brand has taken the vintage them to the next level by including a faux-aged Air midsole. Similar to the iconic “Lost & Found” from 2022, it’s dipped in a retro “Muslin” hue. All of this then comes packed in a pre-distressed shoebox that’s almost as collectible as the actual sneakers themselves.
Expected to drop this summer, the Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Irregular Shadow” is as much about storytelling as it is about looks. For collectors and retro purists, let us know if you’ll be going for these, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
