The Air Jordan 1 Low “Coral Reef” is Inspired by the Ocean

With summer coming up just around the corner, Jordan Brand is paying homage to the deep blue sea with the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low “Coral Reef.” Dropping just in time for the warmer months, here’s everything that you need to know.

Packed with soft tones and textured details, the first thing that you’ll notice about this Air Jordan 1 is the coral-inspired star hangtag. Made exclusively for the limited edition drop, it’s decked out with tiny perforations to mirror real coral formations. Hanging alongside it is a pink Jumpman chain, tying perfectly into the oceanic theme.

Elsewhere, the upper is crafted from soft pink nubuck and it’s overlaid by “Ironstone” panels. An earthy brown Swoosh glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and the heel introduces a lace-like pattern that’s actually a nod to sea creatures found in reef ecosystems. Rope laces give the trainer rugged, nautical aesthetic, and all of this is finished off with a crisp Nike Air midsole down below.
