The Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” Wants to Take You to the Flip Side

Remember the legendary “Rare Air” series that launched back in 2006? Well, after almost two decades on ice, the iconic collection is finally making a comeback with the upcoming Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air.” Not only is this one helluva colourway, it’s also dropping just in time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Jordan Brand, so it’s a very big deal.

While these are just early mock-ups for now, they’re pretty close to the actual trainer in question. Featuring a premium construction that’s made up of buttery soft nubuck and high grade leather, the upper is painted predominantly in black and is accented with “Military Blue” throughout. Unlike most Air Jordan 3s out there, the classic elephant print overlays have been replaced with light grey suede instead for a sophisticated look. All of this then rests on top of an Air midsole for unrivalled comfort and cushioning with every step.

Of course, you just can’t talk about this special edition sneaker without mentioning the heel tabs. They retain the “Nike Air” logos, but while the left shoe is oriented traditionally, the right shoe boasts a reversed version that’s extremely unique. These are both decked out in spicy “Chile Red” hues, finalising the design.

With its blend of luxury materials and a unique design, the Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” is set to be a standout release in Jordan Brand’s Summer 2025 roster. Let us know if you’ll be adding these to your rotation next year, and make sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
