Inspired by Michael Jordan’s classic comic-themed Nike apparel from the mid-1980s, the Air Jordan 4 “Comic” pairs nostalgic graphics with fresh details exclusive to this colourway. This iteration draws directly from Michael Jordan’s 1985 comic-themed “Dunk” T-shirt, one of his earliest Nike apparel designs. The original graphic featured Jordan soaring for a dunk with bold comic book artwork, and that same visual style has been translated onto the Air Jordan 4.

The Air Jordan 4 “Comic” starts with an Off-White leather upper, allowing its colourful comic-inspired accents to stand out. Gradient netting in shades of yellow, orange, red, and Fire Pink appears beneath the side panels and tongue. Meanwhile, Anthracite details on the wings, heel tab, and midsole balance the brighter palette.

The standout feature is the redesigned upper eyelet, shaped as a comic book action burst in Fire Pink. A red lower eyelet adds another pop of colour, while the pink outsole ties the theme together from top to bottom.

Jordan Brand also introduces one of the release’s most unique details: a comic-inspired Nike Air heel logo featuring dotted graphics and gradient colouring that mimics the look of vintage comic book printing. The gradient Jumpman tongue is also rumoured to have a tear-away feature that reveals hidden branding underneath.

Instead of simply refreshing the Air Jordan 4 with new colours, Jordan Brand gives the silhouette a story-driven design inspired by one of Michael Jordan’s earliest Nike graphics. The July 25 release lines up with San Diego Comic-Con, but fans won’t need to attend the event to grab a pair. The sneaker will also release through SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers.
