Air Jordan 4

Always a must-cop pair in this generation no matter the colourway. The Air Jordan 4 is a fan-favourite Air Jordan retro in recent years. Its unique design headlined by support wings on the sides showcased Tinker Hatfield’s creativity.

As Tinker’s second Air Jordan design, he incorporated never-before-seen aesthetics such as the mesh netting on the sides. TPU overlays in the form of support wings and heel tabs added more character to the shoe. First released in 1989, this sneaker looked to emulate the Air Jordan 3’s success on the court and in the stores.

The Air Jordan 4 remains a mainstay Air Jordan retro release for many years now. And it’s going to stay that way as long as Jordan Brand puts up fire colourways.

The most popular Michael Jordan moment wearing the Air Jordan 4 is “The Shot” when MJ hit a game-winner of Craig Ehlo to send the Cleveland Cavaliers home in the 1989 NBA playoffs. A colourway rocking the vintage Cavs uniform colours eventually released and dubbed “The Shot”.

Other iconic colourways include the Bred, Fire Red, Cement Grey, and Military Blue. Some non-OG colourways became popular due to their impressive colour blocking. Pairs like the UNC, Toro Bravo, Taupe Haze, Black Canvas, and more are just among the popular styles in the past decade.

Considered to be the second most popular Air Jordan behind the Air Jordan 1, the AJ4 is truly an icon. While MJ never won a championship wearing this shoe, its presence remains legendary.

Collabs with Travis Scott, A Ma Maniere, and Union Los Angeles were only the beginning. There are loads of Air Jordan 4s coming every year! New styles arrive every now and then throughout the season and there’s nowhere to go but up for this revolutionary sneaker.
