Vans and Bape are back with another collaboration, this time reviving the chunky Knu Skool in two bold colorways that blend the identities of both brands. Following their 2024 partnership on the Sk8-Mid and Old Skool, the latest capsule shifts focus to one of Vans’ most recognizable Y2K-era silhouettes.

Rather than reinventing the Knu Skool, BAPE layers its signature design language directly onto the classic skate model. The result is a collaboration where Vans’ heritage and BAPE’s streetwear DNA coexist without either overshadowing the other.

Both pairs feature a premium suede-and-canvas construction, with BAPE’s iconic camouflage filling the canvas panels between the suede overlays. The “Color Camo” edition showcases the brand’s classic woodland-inspired camouflage in olive tones, while the “Color Camo Black” opts for a stealthier monochromatic interpretation that emphasizes texture over contrast.

One of the biggest visual changes comes on the side panels. BAPE replaces the traditional Vans Sidestripe with its signature STA logo, while the opposite side features Vans’ classic checkerboard pattern, creating the mismatched aesthetic that has become a hallmark of previous BAPE collaborations.

Additional co-branded details appear throughout the sneaker. Shark teeth graphics borrowed from BAPE’s iconic Shark Hoodie are molded into the rubber midsole, while an Ape Head lace keeper adds another recognizable touch. Underfoot, a translucent outsole reveals Vans’ checkerboard graphic above the brand’s classic waffle traction pattern.

Despite the collaborative makeover, the shoe retains everything fans expect from the Premium Knu Skool, including its oversized padded tongue, thick collar, chunky proportions, and skate-inspired comfort.
The BAPE x Vans Knu Skool collection releases on July 15 via Vans.com, select Vans retailers, and BAPE channels. Pairs will also be available through raffle releases at Vans Fifth Avenue in New York City and The Grove in Los Angeles. Retail is set at £111.73 for both colourways.
