The Jordan Session Was Born to Skate

Since 1985, Jordan Brand has been the name behind some of the most iconic basketball shoes out there. But for its 40th birthday, it looks like it’s heading into a new direction with the brand new Jordan Session – a lifestyle sneaker that’s heavily inspired by the skate scene of the early 2000s. Revealed in two crisp colour combos, it might just give the SB Dunk a run for its money.

Available in “Black” and “Neutral Cream” options, the trainers work on top of a breathable mesh base and are overlaid by beefy suede panels across the lateral and medial sidewalls. Padded collars offer added support, while the chunky laces are clearly influenced by half-pipe-ready silhouettes from way back when.

There’s something pretty old school about the toebox too. It’s wide and rounded like the New Balance 574 or a vintage pair of DC Shoes. It’s unapologetically bulky, with plenty of retro flavour.

Mesh tongues and elliptical heel cut-outs complete the look, and branding is kept on the minimal side. You’ll spot a Jumpman logo here, a subtle “Flight” script there, and everything’s packed in a brand new shoebox that was designed exclusively for this silhouette.

Dropping within the coming months, the Jordan Session is a quiet flex with loads of attitude. Let us know if you’ll be adding these to your rotation, and be sure to keep it locked for your best chance to secure your size!
