Lorenz.OG (whose real name is Lorenzo Federici) is, without question, one of the most talented sneaker customisers of this generation. Famous for his unique gradient effect that’s created by masterfully mixing a series of dyes together, his designs started off as a fun project on Instagram. But eventually, they caught the attention of some of fashion world’s biggest names, with the late Virgil Abloh being a huge fan of his work. Now, after months and months of leaks, rumours, and teasers, the St. Albans-based artist has now taken the wraps off of the Lorenz.OG x Nike Air Max 95 “Dusk” – and it’s coming much sooner than you think.
Working on top of a creamy mesh base, Lorenz.OG’s take on the Air Max 95 is simple yet striking at the same time. Suede overlays wrap around the lateral and medial sidewalls of the trainer, and this buttery material extends towards the toebox as well. From a distance, this looks like just another classic “Triple White” colourway, but as soon as you take a closer look, you’ll quickly realise that’s there’s so much more to it than meets the eye.
The mesh lacing system, for example, fades seamlessly from purple to lilac to orange. This sunset-inspired design also makes its way to the eyelets. Underfoot, the AM95 sits on top of an extra chunky Air midsole, and this unit is dipped in a beige hue, resulting in a pre-aged aesthetic that looks like it’s been pulled straight out of Nike‘s archives. All of this then comes packed in a special edition shoebox, that has been made just for this coveted collaboration.
If you want the Lorenz.OG x Nike Air Max 95 “Dusk” in your collection this season, then you need to listen up. Set to drop on January 27th, they’ll be available exclusively at Lorenz.OG’s “Air in Colour” exhibition in 59 Greek Street, London. It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but these are going to sell out in seconds, so good luck!
