The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Goddess of Victory” Nods to its Origins

Nike is one of the most iconic sportswear companies in history. In fact, according to the latest numbers, it’s also the most valuable fashion company in the world right now. But before it became the behemoth that it is today, it was just a tiny start-up that got its name from the Greek goddess of victory. And with the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Goddess of Victory,” the Beaverton brand is celebrating its humble origins.

From a distance, this Air Force 1 looks just like your classic “Triple White” colourway, but as soon as you take a closer look you’ll quickly realise that it couldn’t be more different. Featuring a crisp all-white leather base, the Swooshes across the lateral and medial sidewalls are decked out in breathable mesh just in time for summer. Thick brown hiking shoe-like laces tie everything together, and complementary accents can be found on the sides of every single panel for an even more intriguing aesthetic.

Blue and red branding on the tongue reflects the Oregon company’s original colour scheme, and a graphic of the goddess of victory adorns the heel area. You’ll also find “1972” stamped on the toebox of the right shoe as a nod to the year that Nike became, well, Nike.

Set to be a cornerstone release for collectors and enthusiasts alike, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Goddess of Victory” is expected to launch sometime this summer, so be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to cop!
