Following the hotly-anticipated release of the Air Max 1 86 OG Big Bubble “University Red” over Air Max Day 2023, it looks like Nike is set to continue this iconic line-up with the never-before-seen Nike Air Max 1 86 OG “Black Denim.” Giving the Tinker Hatfield-designed icon a unique twist, this is a sneaker that you certainly do not want to miss out on.
One of the most unique AM1s that we’ve seen in a very long time, it works on top of a “Football Grey” suede base and, as its name already states, the upper is covered in “Black Denim” overlays for a vintage-inspired aesthetic.
A crisp white Swoosh glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls, while tumbled leather mudguards wrap around the trainer. Just in case that wasn’t already enough, Nike has also added “Pink Foam” accenting to the cotton laces, nylon tongue, and inner lining, resulting in a look that is sure to turn heads wherever you go.
Of course, there’s absolutely no way you can talk about this shoe without bringing up the “Coconut Milk” midsole. With it being part of the Big Bubble series, it’s equipped with an absolutely gigantic Air unit around the heel.
Not only does this introduce a somewhat contemporary vibe, it’s also extremely comfortable as well. You really need to try these on in-person to really believe it.
The Nike Air Max 1 86 OG “Black Denim” FB9647-001 is a material masterpiece. At this point in time, no firm launch details have been shared yet by Nike, but expect it to drop sometime in 2024.
