The Nike Air Max 1 “Grand Piano” From 2009 is Getting An Encore

Took a L on the Nike Air Max 1 “Grand Piano” back in 2009? Well, you’re in luck, as the legendary Air Max 1 colourway is finally coming back just in time for its 15th anniversary. Originally released exclusively at PHANTACi’s Taiwan store, only 400 pairs were made globally, automatically making it a grail among collectors.

Just like the OG pair from back in the day, the 2024 reissue works on top of a crisp “White” leather base and is overlaid by glossy “Black” panels throughout as a nod to the instrument that it gets its name from. Cotton laces tie everything together, and a complementary Swoosh glides through the lateral and medial sidewalls.

While Nike could’ve just left it there, the American sportswear company went a few steps further by adding “Metallic Gold” around the heel and top eyelets. The inside of the trainer has also been lined with “Pink Rise” velvet, mirroring the majestic materials that are used inside an actual grand piano. All of this then rests on top of an Air midsole for comfort and cushioning that will surely get a round of applause.

Other than switching out the PHANTACi-branded dubraes for normal Nike ones, 2024’s Nike Air Max 1 “Grand Piano” is a one-to-one rendition of the original. Expected to release sometime in Summer 2024, be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to cop!
