The Nike Air Max 1 Powerwall BRS Slide Throws It Back to a Y2K Icon

You just can’t talk about the greatest Air Max 1s of all-time without giving the Nike Air Max 1 Powerwall BRS a special shoutout. Originally released back in 2006, not only was it part of the ultra-exclusive Powerwall line, it also paid tribute to the American sportswear company’s original name: Blue Ribbon Sports.

Only 144 pairs were made globally, and if you (like pretty much all of us) didn’t manage to secure your size 18 years ago, the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 Powerwall BRS Slide is the ultimate alternative.

Just like the OG from ’06, the Slide‘s strap is made mostly of “Classic Green” mesh and is overlaid by “Olive Grey” suede across the top.

The old-style Nike Swoosh is stitched across the centre, and you’ll find two more along the lateral and medial sidewalls in a pink “Coral” hue, just like the Air Max 1 from back in the day.

Down below, the footbed is painted in a contrasting brown and white colour palette, and it’s infused with Air technology for unbeatable comfort and cushioning. It’s then lined with a black rubber outsole for extra grip by the pool or on the beach.

As Nike continues to explore and reimagine its iconic designs, the Nike Air Max 1 Powerwall BRS Slide raises excitement about which classic colourways will receive the slide treatment next.

Set to drop sometime in 2024, so make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to cop!
