Only ’90s kids will remember the Nike Air Max Sunder, and if you want to relive the good ol’ days, you’re in luck, as the legendary silhouette is making a comeback just in time for its 25th anniversary. While Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des GARÇONS did revisit this old school model a couple of years ago, this re-release will be a like-for-like rendition of the original from back in the day.
Making its debut in an exciting “Canyon Gold” colour combination, the upper is crafted from a stretchy neoprene fabric that fades from yellow to orange. The Air Max Sunder’s signature zip hits the vamp, and this is overlaid on top of a traditional lacing system that offers up a more secure fit and feel.
Oversized pull tabs hit the tongue and heel, and around the mudguards, you’ll find a slew of reflective panels so you’ll be able to turn heads even in low light conditions. A Nike Swoosh is stamped on the lateral sidewall, and all of this rests on top of a chunky white foam midsole, finalising the retro-futuristic aesthetic.
Expected to launch sometime in Autumn 2024, if you want the Nike Air Max Sunder “Canyon Gold” in your fall rotation as well as any of the other colourways, make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
