The Nike Air Safari OG From 1987 is Making a Comeback

Without a shadow of a doubt, the Nike Air Safari OG is one of the most iconic sneakers in the history of the universe. One of the silhouettes that pioneered Nike‘s coveted Air technology, it was designed by Tinker Hatfield and was eventually introduced in 1987. It’s legendary status cannot be underestimated. In fact, it’s said that if this model never existed, Nike definitely wouldn’t be the sportswear powerhouse that it is today.

While the Air Safari OG did make a comeback in 2012 and 2018, if you didn’t manage to secure these re-releases back in the day, then 2024’s restock should not be missed. World-renowned for its exotic aesthetic, it builds on top of a vibrant “Monarch” leather base and is overlaid by “Black” panels across the sidewalls.

A Swoosh glides across the laterals and medials, and just like the OG from the ’80s, an ostrich-like texture features across the collar and mudguards in a grey “Cobblestone” colour scheme.

To complete the look, the trainer is equipped with a monochromatic midsole that’s paired with a matching rubber outsole. This unit houses a hidden Air unit that’s still as comfortable as it gets even after almost four decades.

While an exact re-release date has yet to be confirmed, according to our trusty sources, the Nike Air Safari OG will be returning sometime in Summer 2024. Make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your pair.
