We’re officially more than half way through 2024 now, but just when you thought things were about to slow down a bit, Nike has just revealed that the legendary Nike Dunk High “Wu-Tang” is making a comeback. A holy grail among sneaker collectors and hip-hop fans alike, this iconic trainer first released back in 1999 as a homage to one of the most influential hip-hop groups in history, the Wu-Tang Clan.
Boasting a premium leather construction, the “Wu-Tang” is painted in a “Black” and “Goldenrod” combination that perfectly reflects the collective’s bumblebee-like colour scheme. One of the key features of this Dunk includes the world-renowned logo that’s prominently displayed on the lateral heel. The custom tongue tag further emphasises its exclusivity, while the classic Swoosh glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls.
The Wu-Tang Clan, hailing from Staten Island, New York, totally revolutionised the music genre in the early ’90s with its gritty sound and distinctive lyrical style. Formed by RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa, their debut album released in 1993 and is considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums in history.
Originally only 36 pairs were made, so the return of the Nike Dunk High “Wu-Tang” means that those who actually wanted to cop back in the day can finally add them to their collection. Expected to re-release sometime in Autumn 2024, be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
