The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Black Toe” will forever be one of the greatest Air Jordans of all-time. Originally released all the way back in 1985 when Michael Jordan had literally just signed with Nike, it was eventually retroed in 2016. However, if you didn’t manage to secure your size back then, the upcoming Nike Dunk Low “Black Toe” is the ultimate alternative.
Transferring the legendary colourblocking to the Dunk Low silhouette, this version boasts a premium all-leather construction that’s soft and supple to the touch. Working on top of a crisp white base, it’s overlaid by fiery red panels around the collar, and slick black accents along the lacing system and toebox (hence the “Black Toe” nickname).
Cotton laces tie everything together, and underfoot, you’ll find a clean rubber midsole. While this isn’t infused with Nike’s critically-acclaimed Air cushioning technology like the Air Jordan 1, it’s still one of the most comfortable soles in the game. It’s then lined with a spicy rubber outsole for additional grip.
Something else that sets this apart from the AJ1 is the Swoosh branding. While the OG had black ticks on both the sidewalls, this trainer switches things up by adding a red one across the medial.
While Jordan Brand purists might not be a big fan of this change, it’s still a fire colourway nonetheless.
The Nike Dunk Low “Black Toe” will, without a shadow of a doubt, be one of the most popular pairs of the entire year. Set to drop within the coming months, make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps to increase your chances of copping.
