The Nike Dunk Low CO.JP “What The” is Finally Getting a Global Release

The Nike Dunk Low CO.JP “What The” is a very special sneaker that holds a unique place in trainer history. Originally released exclusively in Japan in 2017 as part of the Concept Japan line, it’s now getting a worldwide release. This is the ultimate holy grail for many sneakerheads, and it’s a moment that many of us have been waiting for.

This reissue celebrates the iconic “Be True To Your School” collection, which debuted back in 1985 alongside the Air Jordan 1. While Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe was designed for NBA stars, the Dunk catered more toward college athletes, featuring colours that represent elite basketball programs from the likes of the University of Iowa, Michigan, and Kentucky, among others.

The “What The” iteration is a mash-up of all of these legendary colourways, blending them into one visually striking sneaker. With a traditional all-leather construction, mesh tongues, and vibrant branded tongue label, it pays homage to the original Nike drop while adding a modern twist.

Not much else is known about the Nike Dunk Low CO.JP “What The” re-release at the moment, but it’s expected to make a comeback sometime in Holiday 2024. If you want a pair in your collection, you need to keep your eyes peeled at at Captain Creps for your best chance to cop.
