The Nike Dunk Low “Silver Surfer” is Making a Triumphant Return

The Nike Dunk Low “Silver Surfer” is set to make its highly anticipated comeback just in time for its 20th anniversary. Originally released all the way back 2004, this iconic sneaker quickly became a grail for both comic book fans and Nike collectors alike.

Inspired by the villain-turned-ally who debuted in The Fantastic Four #48 comic back in 1966, the “Silver Surfer” features a premium “Metallic Silver” mesh and leather construction. These shiny surfaces come together to form the anti-hero’s signature mirror-like look.

“Aegean Storm” accents make their way to the Swoosh logo along the sides, and this beautiful blue hue can also be found along the tongue tag too. Fiery red tones venture towards the heel tab, and all of this rests on top of a crisp white rubber midsole that offers unrivalled comfort and cushioning with every step. And, just like the OG Dunk from 2004, it’s finished with a “Neutral Grey” outsole just to really tie this iconic Y2K colourway together.

However, it’s worth noting that while the original version sported Marvel Comics’ Silver Surfer on the insoles, it remains to be seen if this detail will return in the 2024 edition due to trademark concerns.

This release coincides with renewed interest in the Fantastic Four franchise, following the announcement that Robert Downey Jr., who previously played Iron Man, has been cast as Victor Von Doom for the upcoming Avengers movies. Expected to drop on Autumn 2024, let us know if you’ll be adding the Nike Dunk Low “Silver Surfer” to your collection, and make sure to stay tuned to Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
