The Nike SB P-Rod 1 “20th Anniversary” is a Skate Icon Reborn

Two decades after its original debut, Paul Rodriguez’s first signature Nike SB shoe is making a comeback, and it looks better than ever. Marking a key moment in skateboarding history, the Nike SB P-Rod 1 “20th Anniversary” should be in every sneakerhead’s collection.

Let’s throw things back, shall we? In 2005, the P-Rod 1 was monumental in helping Nike SB break into a scene that’s normally quite caution and quite critical about big sportswear companies. At the time, Rodriguez was already an icon on the half-pipe, and his involvement in this trainer made is quite clear that the American sportswear company wasn’t here to play games.

Sticking to the OG white and black colour combo, the upper is crafted from premium full-grain leather and comes complete with the unmistakable “PR” heel pattern. A Swoosh glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and underfoot, the midsole is big and beefy, just like traditional skate shoes from the early 2000s. This is then fitted with Zoom Air for unrivalled comfort and cushioning with every step.
