There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Air Foamposite One is one of Nike‘s most iconic basketball shoes. First introduced all the way back in 1997, the old school silhouette has been blessed with countless big name collabs throughout the years. And now, it looks like another one is on the horizon with the Tekken 8 x Nike Air Foamposite One “Fist.” Teaming up with the Bandai Namco franchise, this limited edition trainer is a must-cop for both video game fans and sneakerheads.
From a distance, this Air Foamposite One bears a striking resemblance to the iconic “Eggplant” colourway. But as soon as you take a closer look you’ll immediately spot a bunch of differences. Firstly, while the Foamposite upper boasts a similar metallic purple finish, it’s now covered in a scale-like pattern that’s meant to mirror the intensity of Tekken battles. Special co-branding hits the insole, but the biggest change here is probably the “FIST” text that’s displayed prominently on the rubber outsole.
Elsewhere, oversized pull tabs feature on the tongue tag and back for added convenience, while premium leather wraps around the lacing system and heel. All of this is then packed in a special edition shoebox that’s decorated with the game’s cover art of Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.
Not much else is known about the Tekken 8 x Nike Air Foamposite One “Fist” at this moment in time, but according to our sources, it’s expected to launch sometime in September.
