Tuned Air Royalty: The Air Max Plus VII Is Finally Back

Two decades after its debut, the Nike Air Max Plus VII is finally back—and this time, it’s personal. The 20th-anniversary retro isn’t a watered-down remake. It’s a 1:1 reissue, bringing back everything that made the original 2005 release so distinctive.

Leading the revival is the “Varsity Maize” colourway, one of the most sought-after TN7s among collectors. The upper’s fiery yellow gradient bleeds into black across the synthetic panels, while moulded TPU overlays melt into the design like heatwaves. It still leans into that Y2K chaos, but the structure is tighter than ever.

Down below, the Tuned Air cushioning remains intact, bolstered by a sharp midfoot shank that curls up around the heel. It’s aggressive. Bold. And unmistakably part of the TN family.

Behind the scenes, the retro has been helmed by Leon Witherow, aka @prestology, a name that should mean something to serious Air Max heads. His close connection to the silhouette helped ensure that nothing got lost in translation.

There’s no official UK release date yet, but Fall 2025 is the target window, with more colourways expected to follow. If you’ve been waiting for this one, now’s the time to clear space in your rotation. This isn’t just nostalgia, it’s one of Nike’s most faithful retro comebacks in years.
