Willy Chavarria and adidas Originals are back once again, and this time they’ve gone deeper into the archive to take on the Megaride AG. The Megaride name carries weight. Originally introduced in the early 2000s, it stood out for its exposed cushioning and mechanical look. Chavarria keeps that foundation intact, but strips away excess.
The upper starts with a breathable mesh base, overlaid by translucent TPU panels that wrap the shoe in a sculptural shell. Suede panels land at the toe and heel, adding contrast and texture without breaking the flow.

Branding stays quiet. “Chavarria” runs down the tongue, reflective on the black pair and matte on the cream version. A double adidas logo sits inside on the sockliner. Nothing shouts. Everything sits where it should. The signature Megaride cushioning system returns in full view, with its hollow, tunnel-like structure running the length of the sole.

The Cream version softens things. A warm mesh base, muted TPU overlays, and light suede details give it a cleaner, everyday feel.

The Black colourway leans darker and sharper. Silver metal mesh peeks through the upper, paired with reflective hits and subtle red accents on the outsole. It feels closer to the runway. More industrial.

The Willy Chavarria x adidas Megaride AG releases on January 30th, with pairs expected to land via adidas Confirmed and select retailers. – Definietly getting a pair in hand to review soon!
