The adidas Adistar Control 5 is back, reviving a 2008 classic for the current retro runner obsessed sneakerhead. Originally made for over-pronators, this retro reissue fits perfectly into today’s Y2K tech-runner revival.
A breathable mesh upper meets glossy synthetic overlays and reflective details, keeping the shoe’s distinctive early-2000s identity intact. Underfoot, AdiPRENE+ cushioning, Ground Control System, Foremotion, and 3D TORSION technologies return for a stable yet responsive feel, supported by a durable AdiWEAR outsole.
It’s a true throwback that blends keeping the original 00s DNA firmly in tact. The Adistar Control 5 proves that adidas’ archive designs still have plenty of mileage left. Dropping on October 17.

The adidas Adistar XLG 2.0 carries the DNA of the early 2000s running boom, bringing back a bold, sculpted look reminiscent of the Adistar Cushion 3. Taking cues from the Pharrell x adidas Adistar Jellyfish, this version tones things down slightly but keeps that oversized, futuristic energy alive.
The upper combines wavy overlays, geometric Three Stripes, and textured paneling in shades of Solar Orange, white, silver, and black. The design feels familiar yet fresh, borrowing Pharrell’s adventurous proportions but streamlining them for a refined take more suitable to the masses.
