Earlier this year, Angelo Baque took to Instagram to tease the Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 “Arctic Pink”. Made in collaboration with Jordan Brand, not only does it celebrate the label’s 40th anniversary, it also pays tribute to the AJ5’s 35th birthday. Suffice to say, it’s a very important drop, and if you’ve been eyeing these up for a while, it’s time to get up close and personal with the hotly anticipated shoe.

The first thing that you’ll notice about this special edition Air Jordan 5 is its “Arctic Pink” leather upper. Straying away from the silhouette’s usual neutral tones, this sneaker was made to turn heads. “Fire Red” accents set the inner lining alight, and the tongue is decorated with the New York City streetwear imprint’s logo, superimposed with the legendary Jumpman motif.

But it’s the little details that make this collab really stand out. Look closer, and you’ll spot a letter “A” across the side netting. The number “23” is embroidered around the heel as a nod to Michael Jordan’s signature jersey number, and underneath the Nike Air sole, the rubber outsole has been iced out. All of this is then packed in an exclusive shoebox that was made just for this partnership.
