Not only is it the 40th anniversary of Jordan Brand, it also marks 35 years since the Air Jordan 5 made its grand debut and 30 years since the Air Max 95 blessed the sneakerverse. And to celebrate the latter, the American sportswear company has unleashed the Nike Air Max 95 OG “Sundial”.
The upper blends “Black” mesh and nubuck with varying shades of grey suede, creating that familiar wave-like structure first introduced by Sergio Lozano in 1995. But where this release sets itself apart is in the details. Bright orange lace loops and mini Swooshes bring heat across the upper, while the Air units underfoot go loud in punchy “Playful Pink”.
Nike’s expanding Big Bubble rollout also hits here. The “Sundial” features that chunky retro Air unit in the heel, delivering unrivalled comfort with every step. Underfoot, the all-black midsole and outsole keep things grounded and durable, letting the colour hits pop without overwhelming the design.
