From the 574 to the 2002R, Salehe Bembury has worked on some of the greatest New Balance silhouettes ever. And just when you thought he was about to slow down a bit, he takes to Instagram to reveal the upcoming Salehe Bembury x New Balance 530 “Yellow.” Marking his first take on the ’90s silhouette, it brings the New York designer’s signature aesthetic to the retro model.
While it’s hard to pinpoint what colour these 530s actually are, they’re basically a mix between a very soft yellow and a very bright lime green. Featuring a classic mesh construction, it replaces the traditional leather panelling with soft suede instead, which completely dominates the entire upper. Baby blue and neon pink accents make their way throughout, and because this is a Salehe Bembury creation, the “N” logo is decorated with an intricate fingerprint pattern.
Silver metallic accents hit the toebox, and underfoot, the trainer rests on top of a chunky ABZORB midsole that’s as comfortable as it gets. This is finished off with a multicoloured outsole that’s as grippy as it gets, and all of this comes packed in a special co-branded shoebox that’s been specifically designed for this exclusive collaboration.
The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 530 is set to drop sometime this autumn, and will be followed by even more colourways very soon. As always, make sure you keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
