A modern classic inspired by one of the most revolutionary Air Max shoes of all time. The Nike Air Max 2090 combines elements from a beloved model and updated it to today’s standards. And it resulted in another popular lifestyle staple shoe.

It’s not often Nike celebrates a milestone of an iconic trainer by releasing a new silhouette. But the new AM 2090 took what worked on the AM90 and utilised it with a lighter upper and a bigger Air unit.

The Nike Air Max 2090 came out in 2020 as part of the Air Max 90’s 30th-anniversary celebration. While the pandemic proved to be a challenge, the shoe still caught a lot of attention as it redefines the future of Air.

As a 30-year update to its predecessor, the shoe features 200% more Air. Textile comprises the upper, with more internal padding underneath to keep the structure solid.

Swooshes on the lateral sides mimic the Air Max 90, as well as the side mudguards. Modern AIR branding adorns the rear, heel, and tongue.

Just like the AM90, the large volume Air Max unit in the heel has a TPU cage for stability. Soft Cushlon foam adorns the midfoot and forefoot for a well-balanced ride.

The brand’s signature waffle outsole boasts flex grooves for additional flexibility.

Many Air Max models came out since 2020 and the Air Max 2090 took a break. However, this shoe paved the way for Nike to keep experimenting with sneaker designs and unveil more possibilities for Air.
