Established in 1947 in the French Alps by François Salomon and his family, Salomon has deep roots in outdoor and mountain sports. From its humble beginnings in a small wood and metal workshop, the Salomon family’s passion for advancing mountain gear has been the driving force behind the brand.

Salomon not only produce mountain equipment, but have moved into the world of footwear and sneakers. Salomon have created new technologies within their footwear such as the Quicklace system and Contragrip outsoles.

Salomon have a strong ethos in focussing on environmentally-friendly practices in both their manufacturing and within their product design.
