Initial impressions may confuse this shoe with an Air Jordan 1 Low from 1985. In fact this is a a brand-new colourway for 2023! After the release of the Air Jordan 1 Low “Tokyo 96”, we have more Japanese-inspired Air Jordan 1s coming up. This time, Jordan Brand incorporates the traditional Japanese stitching method called ‘Sashiko’. We now have a first look at the Air Jordan 1 Low “Sashiko”, appearing in a distressed form with denim uppers and aged soles.
Jordan Brand really loves the Sashiko theme as the Air Jordan 4 “Sashiko” came out a few years ago with a premium makeover. Let’s take a look at the rest of the photos while we have no official release date yet.
We can really see Jordan Brand go all out in this Air Jordan 1 Low “Sashiko” with a vintage look. White tumbled leather makes up the base of the shoe. Light denim fabrics cover the overlays with white exposed stitching. Black leather Swooshes bring a distinct vibe to the rest of the upper.
Denim tongue patches come with embossed Jumpman logos. Exposed foam can be seen on the edges.
A cork sockliner with different stitching patterns adorn the interior.
Sail white laces and inner lining complement the old-school aesthetics.
Stitched Jordan Wings logos on the heel panel gets surrounded with more exposed stitching to complete the distressed treatment.
A black rubber outsole finishes off the design. This seems to be the only part of the shoe without the vintage design!
Expect more details about this sneaker soon as we approach the second half of 2023.
