For the past ten years, Kanye West and adidas have been in the lab working on some of the most hyped sneakers of all-time. While we’ve been blessed with silhouettes like the 350 V2 and the Foam Runner, there are also plenty of models that have never actually released before – including the adidas Yeezy 150 Samba “Wyoming.”
Images courtesy of sneaker insider Chase Sees Ghosts, Ye’s take on the 1949 football shoe is exactly what you’d expect. Featuring an all-suede construction that looks pretty premium, it’s painted in a “Core Black” palette and boasts extra padding throughout for a chunky aesthetic.
“Wyoming” text is printed across the lateral side as a nod to West’s ranch, and all of this sits on top of an extra thick gum rubber midsole that’s sure to add some height. The 150 Samba is then finished off with the classic T-toe design that’s been around for well over seven decades.
According to Chase Sees Ghosts, the Yeezy Samba was actually first teased all the way back in 2019 when ASAP Bari rocked a high-top version on his Instagram Story. While this might seem like a strange release considering Yeezys are usually big and bold and in-your-face, it really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. These are coming from the same guy who released the very minimal Yeezy Slide and the retro Powerphase, so it’s not as shocking as you might think.
Of course, Kanye West’s partnership with adidas has now come to an end, so the chances that the adidas Yeezy 150 Samba will hit shelves is close to zero. Never say never though, right?
