Keep Things Silky Smooth With the Caroline Hu x adidas Samba Satin

In the eight decades that the Samba‘s been around, it has more or less remained the same since the very beginning. Most pairs are made from leather or suede, and that’s something that hasn’t changed much (if at all) since the ’40s. But now, for her latest collaboration with adidas, Chinese fashion designer Caroline Hu has revealed the Caroline Hu x adidas Samba Satin, and it’s unlike anything that we’ve seen before.

Revealed in three striking colourways including “Power Red,” “Dark Blue,” and “Silver Metallic,” the first thing that you’ll notice about these special edition Sambas are the soft, pleated silk uppers. A nod to Hu’s own dress designs, the ruffled fabric takes over the entire sneaker, extending from the toebox all the way to the heel counter.

Co-branded detailing hits the tongue tag, while adidas‘ Three Stripe branding is finished with a shiny sheen. But while these are all very different to any other Samba out there, they keep the classic brown gum midsole that’s been around for almost 80 years.

Whether dressed up or down, the Caroline Hu x adidas Samba Satin offers a bold, luxurious take on an everyday staple. Expected to release very soon, let us know which colourway you’ll be going for, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
