Back for the first time since it first came out in 2000. A bunch of non-OG Air Jordan Retro colourways are set for a landing in 2022. Aside from the Air Jordan 5 “Green Bean” which last released way back in 2006, we get another non-OG return; this time featuring the Air Jordan 6 “Midnight Navy”. The trending return of non-Chicago Bulls colourways began with the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Cool Grey”, and Jordan Brand looks to bring more of them back.
Ever since Michael Jordan left the Chicago Bulls, his sneakers ditched the classic Red and Black for White and Blue; usually meant to match the Washington Wizards’ jersey colours. The Air Jordan 6 boasts a clean upper with hints of Midnight Navy for a change of scenery.
The \ cemented itself in Michael Jordan’s basketball career as his first championship shoe. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, this was the last Air Jordan with the Air Max setup.
The shoe features a leather upper with perforations all over the sides and rear panels. A rubber tongue with a plastic lace lock makes it easier to adjust the fit for a locked-down ride.
Encapsulated Air unit in the forefoot and a visible Air bag on the heel provide decent cushioning and impact protection.
This Air Jordan 6 Retro “Midnight Navy” marks the first return of the colourway since its debut in 2000. The shoe features a White leather upper with Midnight Navy hints on the lace lock, tongue, midsole, Jumpman on the heel, and outsole. Icy translucent sections on the outsole stay true to the beloved design aspect also found on the previous model.
Keep an eye out for its release in June 2022 on Nike.
