For the Nike Air Force 1’s 40th anniversary this 2022, Nike sets out a release on an upcoming City Pack. This Nike Air Force 1 Mid NH “Berlin” showcases a clean colour combination headlined by the German capital’s dial code. We’re already thrilled with what’s to come as the Swoosh celebrates the 40th anniversary of a sneaker and cultural icon.
We’ve seen a lot of City Pack collections before. Popular trainers like the Nike Air Force 1, Air Max 90, and Air Max 1 among many others all came out in various flavours. Nike has another plan for a City Pack release; this time involving the revolutionary AF1 silhouette for 2022.
First introduced in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 leveraged the Swoosh brand as one of the marquee hoops shoes of the early 80s. Durable leather, recognisable Swoosh, and a thick rubber sole encasing an Air unit boosted the AF1’s reputation. Nike Air technology was way ahead of its time, and to see it on a basketball shoe worked wonders in terms of comfort; and of course, the “AIR” lettering on the midsole became a signature detail.
The Nike Air Force 1 first boasted three versions throughout the decade; and then eventually releasing in new styles for the modern era.
The Nike Air Force 1 Mid features a hook and loop ankle strap for more support. And the rest of the panels come in the usual build.
This Nike Air Force 1 Mid NH “Berlin” features a brown ripple leather base with black smooth suede overlays. Black and Brown dominate most of the shoe, but a Teal “030” on the lateral forefoot stood out the most; referring to Berlin’s dial code.
Because 2022 is the AF1’s 40th year of existence, expect a lot more colourways in the possible Nike Air Force 1 “City Pack” (2022) aside from this one. Check out the trainer’s official release in early April 2022.
