Nike Air Vapormax Evo First Use

The Nike Air Vapormax Evo is one of the most innovative silhouettes to ever release from Nike. Introduced in 2016 and billed as the next big thing in running, the huge Air Sole tested the limits of air technology. Half a decade later, it has transitioned mainly into the lifestyle category and continues to push boundaries.

Taking inspiration from seven iconic Air Max silhouettes, the Nike Air Vapormax Evo is one of the newest designs on the block. Unlike other Vapormax shoes that are built with a sock-like Flyknit upper, the Vapormax Evo is built with a more rigid structure. This provides great support to help keep your foot stable while enjoying the experience of walking on “Air”.

This hybrid sneaker boasts design elements from so many Air Max icons its hard to list them all. The upgraded Vapormax logo can be found on the tongue, sockliner, and heel tab, while more Nike branding appears on the heel panel.

The Air Sole unit is taken from the Vapormax 2021, like its brother it sports rubber pods on key high-wear areas to increase grip and outsole durability. This shoe prioritises support and function rather than the lightweight ride that the regular Vapormax model brings.

An interesting rework by Nike is the midfoot shank inspired by the Air Max Plus, referred to as the “whale tail” by many sneakerheads. The Nike Vapormax Evo utilizes the same shank but on the heel counter for maximum stability and support.

Released August 2021, this colourway of the Nike Air Vapormax Evo is a throwback to when Nike first implemented the Swoosh logo in 1971. Dubbed “First Use” this shoe boasts mesh, synthetics, and a whole load of suede materials on the upper in a Sail White accent. The blue tints on the laces, heel panel, and tongue lining add brimming life to the overall look of the sneaker.
