The adidas Gazelle “Jamaica” Celebrates the Island Nation’s Rich Football Culture

When adidas introduced the Gazelle back in the mid ’60s, it was originally designed for indoor handball. However, a lot has changed since then, and for the better part of six decades, football fans have worn this silhouette to matches all over the world, making the upcoming adidas Gazelle “Jamaica” even more fitting. Made to celebrate the Caribbean island’s love for the Beautiful Game, make sure you read on to find out everything that there is to know.

Inspired by the country’s legendary flag, this Gazelle works on top of a vivid yellow suede base and is contrasted by “Core Black” leather across the laterals and medials. The heel badge is dipped in green, and to really bring the sneaker’s overarching theme home, it’s decorated with the flag itself.

Underfoot, the adidas trainer rests on top of a chunky gum rubber midsole for added grip. Finishing it all off is a special edition insole that’s printed with the “Jamaica Football Federation” badge – a nod to the nation’s deep-rooted football heritage.

Set to drop on August 22nd, the adidas Gazelle “Jamaica” will be available at select adidas Originals retailers both in-store and online at adidas.com. Let us know if you’ll be adding these to your collection, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
