The COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Max TL 2.5 is a Classic Reborn

Every season, Paris Fashion Week is a melting pot of some of the latest and greatest sneakers out there, and for Autumn/Winter 2024, this was truer than ever. After checking out the Junya Watanabe x New Balance 1906 Loafer earlier this week, we’re now taking our first look at the COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Max TL 2.5. Set to be the next collab between the Japanese fashion house and the American sportswear company, here’s what we know so far.

Revealed in three monochromatic colourways including “Triple Black,” “Triple White,” and an Oreo-like version, COMME des GARÇONS has jumped straight into Nike‘s archives to bring back this old school silhouette. This version works on top of a ballistic mesh base and is overlaid by panels and panels of premium leather throughout. Wavy details feature across the sidewalls, giving off an Air Max 97 kinda vibe.

It’s all very clean and all very simple, but what makes the TL 2.5 so special is the extra chunky Air Max midsole underfoot. Offering unparalleled comfort and cushioning, it has also been updated with a revamped outsole for even better grip and traction. Mini Swooshes make their way to the laterals and heel, where you’ll also find some co-branded detailing.

At this moment in time, not much else is known about the COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Max TL 2.5. However, as it debuted on CDG’s Autumn/Winter 2024 runway, we can assume that it’ll drop around this time.
