Tuned 3

Nike continued the advancement of Nike Air with the arrival of the Tuned 3, or Nike Air Max Plus 3. This shoe stuck to the formula of using two visible Air Max units plus a large and sturdy midfoot shank. When Nike brought back the Air Max Plus line in 2019, fans from the UK rejoiced! We now have more styles of the shoe appearing monthly since its return.

The first Air Max Plus originally came out in 1998. Its popularity paved the way for the creation of more models; one of them is the Air Max Plus 3.

The Tuned 3 boasted the usual gradient mesh upper treatment. Linear TPU designs on the upper also serve the purpose of reinforcing the shoe. A plastic toe cap and a large plastic heel counter / midfoot shank provide insane support. You won’t have to worry about spraining your ankles with this trainer!

Tuned Air Max technology appears on the heel, while the forefoot flexes two visible Nike Air units. This setup is bouncy and supportive, perfect for people who are on their feet all day.

The decoupled waffle outsole gives you a reliable grip on any surface. A midfoot shank plate aids your foot for torsional support.

Nike’s growing roster of Air Max does not take away the spotlight of iconic creps such as the Tuned 3. As a matter of fact, the Nike Air Max Plus 3 joined a lot of Nike Air Max collections in recent memory. This helps the shoe become more popular with the new generation of sneakerheads.
