Air Jordan 2 Retro OG "Chicago" (2022) DX2454-106

We have another OG Air Jordan Retro release this late in 2022! First, we got the Air Jordan 3 Fire Red, then the revamped Chicago Air Jordan 1 with the “Lost and Found” edition. Now, a rather forgotten sneaker turns back time to bring back one of its first colourways. The Air Jordan 2 Retro OG “Chicago” (2022) pays homage to the original version of the Air Jordan 2 with its original construction. All premium details are right here! The shoe would’ve probably been popular if not for Michael Jordan’s injury during his sophomore season.

It’s been an extremely busy year for both Nike and Jordan Brand with all these milestones and hyped releases.

With the success of the Air Jordan 1, it’s definitely hard for the sequel to match the same level of prestige built by the predecessor. AF1 designer Bruce Kilgore and AJ1 designer Peter Moore teamed up anyway to try and outdo the first Air Jordan.

Inspired by luxury shoes, the Air Jordan 2 production originated in Italy where they used premium leather fabrics. The iguana-like skin added more premium feel to the shoe. Despite the lack of the Swoosh logo, the Jordan Wings on the tongue took the spotlight as brand labelling.

MJ never really wore the Air Jordan 2 as he stuck with modified Air Jordan 1s to cater to his feet. But the Chicago is definitely the cleanest colourway of this underrated model.

The Air Jordan 2 Retro OG “Chicago” (2022) features White, Black, and Red in the OG Chicago makeover. Premium packaging and OG construction take us all the way back to 1986.
