Following the return of the OG “Chlorophyll”, the Nike Air Trainer 1 brings back another OG colourway in 2022. The Nike Air Trainer 1 OG “Midnight Navy” sets out for a possible return this year; as Nike schedules multiple Air Trainer releases.
While we have no official photos available, check out these actual images provided by South Africa-based store Lemkus.
The OG colourways of the Nike Air Trainer 1 back in 1987 shared the same colour blocking, only with different colours. Either way, the shoe became the face of cross-sports footwear as designer Tinker Hatfield created the ultimate all-around trainer.
The “Chlorophyll” rendition took inspiration from the gym where Tinker Hatfield works out; this Air Trainer 1 “Midnight Navy” colourway puts a little twist on the Grey and White-based shoe.
Going with the basics, the shoe features a White leather base with Grey nubuck overlays. The Midnight Navy namesake appears on the mudguard, midfoot strap, and the Swooshes. Red accents adorn the Nike labels on the strap, tongue, heel panel, and even the top plastic eyelets.
The PU sole houses an Air unit in the heel, while the raised lateral outrigger provides enough stability for multiple sports.
It poses the same hype as the “Chlorophyll”; whether for nostalgia or they’re simply just too fire. Both colourways are considered to be the most popular versions of the Nike Air Trainer 1.
Because of the hype surrounding the upcoming Nike Air Trainer 1 x Travis Scott set for 2022, expect OG heads to be on the fence for these.
Stay tuned for its official release soon, and expect new colourways to arrive in 2022. In other news, check out the return of the Nike Air Trainer SC “Auburn” expected this year too!
