Jordan 1

This shoe changed the sneaker culture just like how Michael Jordan changed the game of basketball. The Air Jordan 1 is without a doubt the most revolutionary sneaker known to mankind. Without this shoe, Nike probably would’ve taken a lot longer before reaching the top. Signing a rookie Michael Jordan is one of the best decisions ever made.

It all began in 1985 when Michael Jordan was the Chicago Bulls’ hope. Designed by Peter Moore, the Nike Air Jordan 1 was MJ’s first basketball signature shoe. Before, MJ was rocking the Nike Air Ship, which is actually the “banned” shoe – contrary to the popular belief that the Bred 1s were the main culprit.

Much like most previous Nike hoop models, the AJ1 features a leather upper, nylon tongue, and perforations on the toe box. Swooshes on the sides come in the usual Nike form. But what really changed the shoe was the Jordan Wings logo, placed on the lateral collar.

As a flagship model, the Air Jordan 1 came in Black and Red boxes, unlike other pairs which come with the typical orange boxes. Some special styles arrive with different colours, matching the corresponding colourway.

Popular OG colourways such as the Chicago, Bred, Royal, and Shadows are among the highly-valued pairs. Jordan Brand brought back some of these colour schemes recently, but all with a twist.

The Air Jordan 1 is a beloved icon, whether it’s the High, Mid, or Low. Multiple collabs rejuvenated the famous shoe into the current generation. No wonder even kids want a pair of J1s!

A true definition of a timeless classic, this sneaker will always be trendy no matter how many decades have passed.

Jordan Brand continues to release new colourways aside from bringing back the OG styles. Check out the latest and hottest Air Jordan 1 releases below.
